The Story

The Story takes place on the Bostock's Farm.  It is December in the late 1950's.

The Bostock Children, Cathy, Nan and Charles see Eddie, a farm labourer, drop a sack of kittens into the canal.  They manage to rescue tem but are unable to find them homes and decide to keep them secretly in the barn.

When Cathy disturbs a strange man who was sheltering in the barn, he utters "Jesus Christ" She mistakenly believes her prayers have been answered.
